These are PDF’s taken almost directly from Nature of Snowdonia. The idea is you might want to carry these on your phone, rather than take the book with you. The first two to be released are designed for walking in the winter. One is Myths and Legends, the other is Mosses. I hope you like them. You will receive the download via email afterpayment
Moss will be found growing in any wet patch or on damp grassland on the mountains. The bright greens of these plants can be enjoyed (especially in wet weather) all year round in the mountains. Mosses and liverworts are some of the oldest plant groups we have (with fossil records 400 million years old).
It’s worth being able to identity such species as star moss (Haircap moss) (Polytrichum commune), woolly fringe moss (Racomitrium lanuginosum) and fern moss (Glittering Wood- moss) (Hylocomium splendens) as they are very abundant on the mountains.
