This course is aimed at Mountain Leaders who are confident on steep ground and have a good head for heights. The workshop is about leading others over Crib Goch. Route selection, safeguarding on steep ground, escape routes, group management and decision-making with groups will all be covered and discussed throughout the day.
From April 2026 this workshop will be run by the amazing Jenny Dart. Jenny has been working with me on these workshops for a while now. She is a fully qualified mountaineering instructor who works on Skye and spends a lot of time in the Alps. Jenny is also an active member of the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Team and as such is more accomplished than most people in the terrain encountered on this day. She’ll give you a brilliant day on my behalf.
This workshop is weather dependent and high winds will lead to a cancellation or postponement.
You should be personally well equipped for a full mountain day. You’ll need packed lunch and a drink. The start time reflects the need to catch a bus to Pen y Pass or walk from Pen y Gwyrd.
