You’ll be aware that she is a brilliant, hardworking and passionate farmer trying to make nature friendly farming work here in Snowdonia. She also works for the Farmers Union of Wales. Come and join me, Mike Raine – author of Nature of Snowdonia, as we discover how she is doing and what she hopes for the future. I believe it behoves us all to know more about where our food comes from and how our land is managed. This workshop will be of particular interest to mountain leaders and mountaineering instructors, but also to Lowland Leaders and Hill and Moorland Leaders as the farm rises from a flood plain to some rough upland grazing. We’ll certainly talk about the challenges of farming, the farmers year, how stock is selected and managed. But we’ll also study the nature around the farm and how farming can impact the environment in positive and negative ways. This workshop gets you one AMI or MTA CPD point.
